Tips for Planning Your Ceremony
If you are currently (or have been) a KBE bride you know that Ceremony Planning is one of the first things we do, and that is VERY intentional. As you begin planning your ceremony a few tips are below:
Timing
Prelude music begins and guests start arriving around 30min prior to the start of the ceremony. Questions to consider regarding ceremony timing would be: What time is sunset? Pending sunset, does that affect the lighting inside the church ie stain glass? Is my ceremony time during “dinner time” and if so, does my ceremony location share parking with any other nearby restaurants, could that be an issue?
Seating
Most traditionally, the grooms paternal grandmother is seated first followed by the grooms maternal grandmother, then comes the brides paternal grandmother followed by the brides maternal grandmother, the grooms mother and lastly the mother of the bride. Consider who will seat these precious women and how you can honor them by your choice.
Music
The most basic traditional Protestant ceremony includes the following special songs: Seating of the Mothers and Grandmothers, Wedding Party Processional, Bridal Processional, Recessional. Other music pieces can be added at a song a mediation, a hymn, a solo etc. Consider how you wish for your guests to join you in this special worship ceremony ️A few questions to ask:What are the acoustics like at my ceremony location? Will I need a sound man? Do any instruments come with the rental and is there a list I can select from to choose my ceremony musicians? Or can we hire whoever?
