To do Bridal Portraits or Not
A resounding YES is what you will hear time and time again from me. A bridal portrait session is worth it's weight IN GOLD if you soak it up for everything it can and should help you do!
1. You are going to have a trial for your MUAH anyway, why not try on your gown, grab a bouquet and have the best half day ever with your mom, planner and photographer!?
2. If time allows, you will get to see photos prior to your wedding date (I typically recommend getting your portraits taken 4 to 5 weeks out from your wedding). I cannot tell you all the changes we have made in alterations, in shoe choice, in hair styles, even in bouquet shape and sizes and all because my bride saw "the look" she "thought" she wanted and once seeing it made other decisions! And because you are 4 to 5 weeks out, a lot of times you are able to make all those changes and you will be forever grateful you did!
3. You can incorporate photos from your bridal session in gifts to your groom, other family members- especially your daddy (cue all the tears).
4. Having a bridal session helps relieve time on the wedding day schedule knowing you already have lots of fabulous time in your gown. Your photographer will ALWAYS take portraits of you the day of but this gives you even more options for your wedding day schedule.
5. It helps you connect with your photographer and feel more comfortable with him/her as they are a HUGE part of the day!
6. Helps in time management regarding the wedding day so your planner knows how long it takes to get you in your gown, fix your bustle, how many other personal pieces such as bolero, fur, belt, veil, etc. that you have and which pieces you want in certain photos.
7. A session can help in photo location preparation if you are taking where you will also be on your wedding day! You, your planner and photographer are able to scout out locations, see lighting and the list goes on!
I literally cannot say enough good things about having a bridal portrait session and will always 100% vote YES so go ahead and call your photographer and add it on - you won't regret it.
